Reseaching Self Build Houses
We will guide you through the initial stages of the planning for a Self Build House Project. You have seen the TV programs about building fantastic dream houses but the TV programs tend to focus on huge futuristic houses that normal people cannot afford and do not want. Will we focus more on the typical Self Built House, a standard designed detached house but with the more traditional methods because these type of houses account for about 90% of self build homes.

Books mean that you can read about self build wherever you are, holiday, lunchtime etc
Show Homes
Visit show homes that are local to you. This will give you ideas on the house styles in your own locality and how the house builders spec the houses. I tend to find that local and national building companies under spec their houses to save money but when you selfbuild your own home you can spec it to a very high standard.
Selfbuild Websites - Internet
The internet has certainly changed the way that we search and find information. When I built my house about 16 years ago there was very little information available to help the self builder now the internet has certainly changed that.
