If you are just starting out looking for Self Build land be prepared to be patient, self build plots are hard to find. Having said that I will try to point you in the right direction on where to look for land.
Scanning the local papers for self build land is one of the common ways of finding building plots. Another way is to subscribe to the National Plot Finding Register. This service is operated by Plotsearch and has about 6000 plots at any one time. The Plotsearch database is checked weekly for the status of the plots for sale.
